Vincent's Nuenen

In 1883, then 30-year-old Vincent van Gogh settled in Nuenen. He initially moved in with his parents but, due to the many quarrels with his father, he soon found his own studio. In Nuenen, he devoted himself entirely to his painting for the first time and was inspired by nature and peasant life. In the two years that followed, he painted no less than a quarter of his entire oeuvre, including his first real masterpiece 'The Potato Eaters.'
